Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is well-known as the pioneer of modern-day scientific research of the memory of children as eyewitnesses and also the application of child victims in court settings. Professor Goodman is a prolific author who has received many awards and grants. She has advised numerous government agencies and governments around all over the world on policy and studies pertaining to the treatment of child victims of the law by the system. She is a consultant at the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center, formerly the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is also a Fellow in the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family Practice and Policy American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 55). Professor Goodman belongs to the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a founding member of the International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of the The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division, as well as three Divisions: Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
